Description:
David Gilmour entered the studio in 1983 to record his second solo album, About Face. Everything about the album screams 'post Floyd', starting with the title. About Face signals an intention on Gilmour's part to turn himself around and head off in a fresh new direction. About Face is redolent of its time. It's a big, big Eighties production, backup singers, a full orchestra and a superstar lineup of supporting players. Gilmour's band is anchored by Toto drummer/session ace Jeff Porcaro and bassist Pino Palladino. Lending a hand or two on keyboards are the legendary Steve Winwood, ex-Deep Purple member Jon Lord and Anne Dudley from the Art of Noise. And tucked among the backing vocalists is future pop star Sam Brown. Track Listing:
