Norway's prog metal masters Green Carnation - who have received critical acclaim worldwide for their back catalogue of work, most notably the epic one-track opus Light of Day, Day of Darkness - return to the music scene in 2006 on a much softer note with "The Acoustic Verses". This latest opus finds the sextet successfully manoeuvring through acoustic realms, peppered with passionate riffs and eloquent melodies. It's a distant step from their prog metal/hard rock ways of previous albums, but in many ways its what you'd expect from Green Carnation.
