Recorded in 1968, Pavarotti's recording of arias by Verdi and Donizetti is the earliest of the twelve original studio albums Pavarotti made during the course of his unparalleled career.

Accompanied by Edward Downes and the Wiener Opernorchester, Pavarotti sings a programme of arias from four of Verdi's operas, Luisa Miller, I due Foscari, Un ballo in maschera and Macbeth coupled with a further four arias from Donizetti's operas Lucia di Lammermoor, Il duca d'Alba, La favorita and Dom Sébastien.

Fully remastered with enhanced sound from original analogue tapes.
