Description:
Dame Judi Dench and Geoffrey Palmer return as Jean and Lionel Hardcastle in the seventh and eighth series of the popular romantic comedy, As Time Goes By. Their lives are endearing and the assured performances of Dench and Palmer lull you into a feeling of safety and warmth. In the start of this new series, Jean admits she can't see as well as she used to, but she is also becoming concerned that Lionel is going deaf as he often mishears what she's saying and sometimes doesn't hear at all. They bring Alistair in to tackle Lionel after Jean's failed attempt, but confusion ensues as Jean discovers Alistair has booked her an appointment with an eye specialist! She agrees to go if Lionel agrees to check out his hearing problem Series 8 sees a shaggy dog adopting Lionel; Sandy and Judith swapping boyfriends; technology and pension plans rattling Lionel's equilibrium.
