On October 9, 2004, at a sold-out performance in New York's Madison Square Garden, longtime rap superstars the Beastie Boys revolutionized the formula for concert films by distributing cameras to fifty audience members and encouraging them to shoot their own footage of the musical performance. Capturing the event in a completely fresh and prismatic way, these fifty filmmakers used their diverse points-of-view to bring to life the total experience of a Beastie Boys concert, from the stage to the back rows, from the performers to the adoring fans. The result is AWESOME; I F***IN' SHOT THAT!, a musical and cinematic celebration starring, Mike D (Michael Diamond), Adrock (Adam Horovitz), and MCA (Adam Yauch) as the Beastie Boys; along with special appearances by Mixmaster Mike, Keyboard Money Mark, Alfredo Ortiz, and Doug E. Fresh. The film was directed by Yauch and photographed primarily by the fifty audacious and enthusiastic fans who inventively used their hand-held cameras to record their highly personal and extremely passionate impressions of a remarkable night with their favorite band. AWESOME, I F***IN' SHOT THAT is, first and foremost, a musical celebration, It is a concert movie unlike any other, with a contagious sense of immediacy and excitement that will appeal to non-Beastie Boys fans as well as to band aficionados.
