Description:
Bike racing can be a brutal and intimidating venture without proper preparation. With more than 200 training principles, techniques, and skills, Beginning Bike Racing will equip newcomers with the competence and confidence they need to enjoy and find success in competitive cycling. A three-year progression helps the cyclist to master every aspect of smart racing. Beginners will work toward balance, control, and economy, with plenty of tips for equipment selection, injury prevention, and basic strategy. From there, intermediate cyclists move on to high-speed cornering and riding in echelons, lab testing, and annual strength training programs. By the third year, cyclists will be mastering advanced techniques including positioning, event- specific skills, and the ability to read and change strategy mid-race.
