Starting out with the Adelaide rockabilly/punk outfit the Mad Turks from Istanbul through to the twice ARIA Award-nominated power-pop band the Icecream Hands, Charles Jenkins has recorded and released nine albums, both locally and internationally including his two critically acclaimed solo albums Bungalow (2004) and The City Gates (2005).
He has toured Europe and America as a solo artist, and his songs have been placed in local and international television and film and recorded by artists of the calibre of Rebecca Barnard and Kerri Simpson.
Chuck has also co-written songs with Mick Thomas (Weddings, Parties, Anything), Angie Hart (Frente), and Abby Dobson (Leonardo's Bride).
Oct 2008 sees the release of a new solo album Blue Atlas featuring his newly christened long term team of multi-talented cohorts, the Zhivagos, plus a 16 piece string section.
A song writing tour de force, it travels the globe to bring the listener into the realms of subjects ranging from the "Trees of Brisbane" to "Rolling into Houston", from "Across the Nullarbor" to "Caravaggio, "My wife and I", from "Maria Van Diemen" to "Shelley Winters".
