Since their inception in early 2003, My Disco have been extremely busy. Between performing in over seven countries, and creating countless releases on quirky formats, it's a wonder they found the time to record a full-length album.
Having toured the country extensively, My Disco have garnered a reputation for delivering a flawless live show. Cancer captures their signature minimal set list, with eight songs in just under 25 minutes. Recorded entirely in the analog domain, the album is perhaps their most refined statement in accordance with their relentless live sound.
My Disco have always paid great attention to individual tonal clarity. A concept of space and distinct structure is predominant on this record. Somewhat of a departure from their previous output, Cancer concentrates less on non-linear time disposition and more on streamlined ideas that rely on an emphatic notion of rhythm and atonality.
Promoting the new record, My Disco will undertake yet another extensive tour of Australia in October.
My Disco have toured Australia with the likes of Mogwai, Deerhoof, Mark Of Cain, Weird War, Yellow Swans and Death from Above.
