This DVD features two hours of Celtic Thunder performances and 13 new songs! Since their debut, Celtic Thunder have spent over 45 weeks atop of the Billboard World Music charts, knocking themselves out of the No. 1 spot with their second CD, Celtic Thunder Act II. Now Celtic Thunder presents Take Me Home (filmed at Casino Rama in Ontario, Canada on April 21, 2009), an all-new show on CD and DVD. The concert event features mostly new material.
Heartthrob Damian (a foot and a half taller, with a deeper voice) would give a young Neil Sedaka or Frankie Valli a run for their money with his renditions of "Happy Birthday Sweet 16" and "Breaking Up Is Hard to Do." Ryan's dark destroyer character develops well with a rendition of Sting's "Every Breath You Take"; George's personality and sense of humor come to the fore in "500 Miles," a show highlight; and Paul's performance of "You Raise Me Up" is not to be missed. Keith, the blond surfer dude, will more than please his fans with "Castles in the Air," on which he accompanies himself on the guitar. The performers come together for both "Take Me Home" and "Working Man," and their voices are even more powerful in these ensemble songs. Performed a cappella, "Danny Boy" has been included due to popular demand after their performances of the classic in New York City on St. Patrick's Day and at the White House.
