This 3-CD box set brings together a trio of new-age instrumentalist Yanni's albums from the early 1990s under one cover. The first of these, 1991's IN CELEBRATION OF LIFE, is itself a compilation, drawing from four of the artist's early albums and giving weight to his orchestral, neo-classical side. 1992's DARE TO DREAM shares the epic quality of IN CELEBRATION, while 1993's IN MY TIME is somewhat more restrained, showcasing the artist's penchant for acoustic piano and intimate textures. The CD covers of each album are included in the box set, and while there aren't any extras or special features, THE COLLECTION is a handy way for initiates to sample a chunk of the new age icon's work.
