REISSUE OF CLASSIC 1979 CONGOS' ALBUM

Following the internationally acclaimed reissue of the 1977 seminal classic 'Heart Of The Congos' , BLOOD AND FIRE is proud to present THE CONGOS' subsequent album 'Congo Ashanti', originally released in 1979.

The group opted for a clean, at times almost jazzy sound, the focus is less on the overall sound and more on the sublime vocals, in particular CEDRIC MYTON's soaring falsetto.

At the time of recording the group comprised Myton, ROY JOHNSON and WATTY BURNETT, and while the original vinyl LP contained just 8 songs; for this CD reissue 4 extra tracks are added: "Music Maker", "Maker Dub", "Feast Of The Passover" and "Feast Dub".

"Feast Of The Passover" is an entirely different from the version on 'Heart Of The Congos'.
