Description:
Although crack Californian rock band CRAZY HORSE had been recording since 1968 (originally as The Rockets) it was Neil Young who assured his continued fame when he used them on his second solo LP. They also helped assured Young's continued fame by introducing him, in the mid-1970s, to their new guitarist, grunge master Frank 'Pedro' Sampedro, who would become so integral to his sound.
This fourth Crazy Horse album, Crazy Moon from 1978, is lit up by Sampedro's raw playing and features obvious (though uncredited) contributions from Young. The full, original (and incredibly scarce) album, featuring the core rhythm section of drummer Ralph Molina and bassist Billy Talbot, is augmented by seven bonus tracks - five by The Rockets and two from the third album, Crazy Horse at Crooked Lake. A collector's classic.
