The alternative pop quartet Harvey Danger was formed in Seattle in 1994 by University of Washington students Sean Nelson (vocals), Jeff Lin (guitar), Aaron Huffman (bass), and Evan Sult (drums). This release represents a dramatic change of musical direction. A piano-driven, classic pop sensibility reigns on the new recording, and while the band's signature melodic knack remains fully charged, the lyrics point to a more sanguine, less-caustic perspective on the old themes of love, regret, and global politics.
