Daydream Nation was Sonic Youths sixth album, their first double LP, and their last for an indie label before signing with major label GEFFEN. Widely considered to be Sonic Youth's watershed moment, Daydream Nation catapulted them into the mainstream and proved that indie bands could enjoy wide commercial success without compromising their artistic vision.

Disc one features the original 1988 album, remastered under the bands supervision. From the anthemic Teen Age Riot to Erics Trip, Total Trash, Candle and Cross The Breeze.

The live Daydream disc two, comprised largely of previously unreleased tracks, features 15 live performances from the bands Daydream Nation Tour.
