* Mondo Generator, originally formed in 1997 by ex-Kyuss members Oliveri, Josh Homme and drummer Brant Bjork. The bands initial recordings were shelved when Oliveri and Homme went on to form Queens Of The Stone Age but eventually these recordings came out in 2000 as the album "Cocaine Rodeo". A further album "A Drug Problem That Never Existed" was released in late 2003.

* The new band sees Nick Oliveri take control of the project as his solo venture and change the name to reflect this.

"Dead Planet: SonicSlowMotionTrails" is Nick Oliveri at his very best. From the raw bass driven aggression of first single "I Never Sleep" to the whirling melodies of "So High". From the stoned out trip of "Take Me Away" to the chugging Ramones-esque "Mental Hell", this is an album that merges driven punk rock with Nick Oliveri's unique vocal and lyrical take.

* The songs also have the hooks that show why he was such an important part of both Kyuss and QOTSA.
