This album really makes mercury rev's tripped indie rock sound stand out as being something comparable to my bloody valentine's loveless, in terms of the dreamy atmosphere it creates so well. this is really the first album i have gotten into with this band, i never really liked 'yerself in steam', particularly because it still sounded alot like flaming lips.only in a bad way. whatever happened in between then and deserter's songs i am not sure, but it really makes for magical listning.
