Description:
A beautiful touching handmade acoustic album by Paul McLaney.

Technically speaking this is his first proper solo album yet Paul entered the homes and hearts of us many years ago firstly with the Avalanche Trio and then with the Gramsci albums, and has since lent his talent to a series of collaborations - Concord Dawn, Module and Rhian Sheehan to name a few. The New Zealand Herald referred to him as "one of the most beautiful voices in New Zealand rock".

EDIN is a beautifully packaged album with an even more beautiful sound. With lush String arrangements (orchestrated by Verlaines founder Dr Graham Downes) that cushion the soulful, reflective entreat of McLaney's vocal compositions. Add drummer Nick Gaffeney and bass player Richie Pickard to the mix and you get EDIN - this is no over-produced album smoothed over with sequences and multiple session takes, EDIN is simply a real recording.

The album was recorded in Dunedin's Historic NZBC Building in July 2006.
