A witty, sophisticated comedy in the tradition of The Big Chill, first time writer/ director Alan Alda (M*A*S*H, The Aviator) also stars as Jack, the moral conscience in a group of wealthy middle-aged couples who gather four times a year for a group vacation. Jack and Kate (Carol Burnett) are the glue of the group; Danny (Jack Weston) is a neurotic, paranoid dentist with a hotblooded wife Claudia (Rita Moreno); meanwhile, Nick (Len Cariou) and Anne (Sandy Dennis) celebrate their 21st wedding anniversary before he dumps her for a much younger woman.
