Description:
This is one of those utterly bizarre compilations that's not really a compilation but a dodgy looking reissue with a couple of bonus tracks from another entry in the discography. In this case, it's Jimmy Buffett. The set is a re-release of his 1973 classic A White Sport Coat and a Pink Crustacean with three cuts nabbed from the follow-up, 1974's Living and Dying in 3/4 Time. As music, this is top-notch Jimmy. If you've only heard the later material, this sound is decidedly more country, and somewhat laid-back, but there are a number of tracks here he's played throughout his career: "Why Don't We Get Drunk and Screw" and "Grapefruit Juicy Fruit." The bonus cuts include Buffett's signature reading of Lord Buckley's "God's Own Drunk" and "Ringling, Ringling." For those who possess the earlier material, don't bother; this collection is not remastered. Thom Jurek.
