The Decemberists are a quintet from Portland, Oregon. Signed to influential indie Kill Rock Stars in the States, Trifekta Records (Art of Fighting, Gersey, Architecture In Helsinki) are pleased to be releasing their second album 'Her Majesty The Decemberists' here in Australia. The band's Beatle-pop influences are highlighted on this album produced by Larry Crane who is known for his work with Elliot Smith, Sleater-Kinney and The Go-Betweens. Strings soar, glockenspiels chime, and analog synths buzz over what the band considers its finest overture into pop song arrangement.

The Decemberists will appeal to fans of Ben Folds, Belle & Sebastian and The Go-Betweens. Look out for east coast street press advertising and as well as community radio advertising. The band will be completing interviews with media in late September, with a video for the track 'The Soldering Life' going to television shortly after. Rumours have already arisen of an Australian tour in the new year!
