The third album from those crazy cats from Orange County, California, HIGH SOCIETY is packed with hip-hop and punk rock. The Kottonmouth Kings have improved both their songwriting and song production, and solid tracks like "The Joint," "First Class," and "Here We Go Again" repeatedly display their tour-honed craft.
Though HIGH SOCIETY contains a widely diverse mix of styles and influences, hip-hop is the constant theme. The listener is kept on a on a wild sonic ride, with cuts such as the reggae-flavored "Face Facts," the West Coast hip-hop funk of "The Lottery," and the electronica-vibed "Daydreamin' Fazes." With the added bonus of an Insane Clown Posse guest appearance on "Wicket Klowns," HIGH SOCIETY is an impressive mix of contemporary elements and smoked-out sounds.
