Persuaded by the organizers of the alternative rock All Tomorrow's Parties festival to make a live re-recording of their remarkable 1993 release HOUDINI, the seminal grunge-metal hybrid the Melvins rose to the challenge, producing a set that equaled and in some cases improved on the original. Cuts like the opening "Pearl Bomb" and "Hooch" combine metal attack with grunge thrash, while the monolithic "Going Blind" shows what Kurt Cobain saw in them.
