HYPNAGOGIC STATES contains remixes of tracks off of The Cure's 2008 release, 4:13 DREAM. The remixers generally chose to make the songs more electronic, beat-heavy, and dancier, even if many of the participants, like AFI's Jade Puget and Fall Out Boy's Patrick Stump and Pete Wentz, come from the world of rock. 30 Seconds to Mars (Jared Leto's band) contribute a slightly more stripped down "The Only One," full of silent stretches and instrumental breaks. The EP is a long way from classic Cure, but an interesting detour. In addition, all profits went to benefit the Red Cross.
