Description:
Rancid, one of rock's most influential indie bands of the '90s, finally makes its major-label debut with Indestructible, its first album in three years. At a juncture in music where every genre has been co-opted, cross-pollinated or over-produced, Indestructible welcomes back a band whose mix of punk and hardcore anthems, tinges of ska, and unforseen musical excusrions can only be described as Rancid.
HISTORY: After a self-titled debut 1993 LP on Epitaph, the four-piece lineup that remains intact to this day premiered on the 1994 EP Radio Radio Radio and made its mark later that year with Let's Go, whose "Salvation" crashed the MTV playlist. 1995's . And Out Come The Wolves, with "Roots Radicals" and "Time Bomb," led the neo-ska revival as Rancid played Lollapalooza. 1998's Life Won't Wait guested dancehall kingpin Buju Banton. Rancid stripped down to the basics for Rancid 2000, perhaps the most unrelentingly brutal album to bludgeon its way into the Top 100.
"Fall Back Down", the first single, is having an amazing response at radio in the U.S. and the UK. Huge adds in almost every major market in the U.S. The video features Kelly Osbourne and members of Good Charlotte.
TOUR: Rancid headlines the US nationwide Warped Tour from June 19August 10.
