They've given us LTJ BUKEM's 'Producer' and MC CONRAD's 'Vocalist', now it's time for BIG BUD and his anticipated 'Late Night Blues'. A part of the Good Looking camp since 1997, and Bukem's favourite Good Looking artist, Big Bud has consistently delivered his trademark drum and bass - which came together with his 1999 universally acclaimed 'Infinity & Infinity' LP. Continually experimenting with jazz and reggae influences, Big Bud has honed his bright, warm style and developed it beyond the drum and bass blueprint. Now the BUD presents his second LP 'Late Night Blues' a double CD that melds together different styles and genres. CD1 has the Bud presenting a 'virtual gig' a computer jam that features legendary New York keyboardist and charismatic vocalist WELDON IRVINE. As the jam builds and the BPMs increase Bud takes in a vast selection of hip hop, jazz, tribal beats, funky breaks and four to the floor taking a vocalist, flautist and slick sax blower along for the ride. CD 2 flips the mood as Big Bud splices together a late night radio show. Mixing the minimal with the magnificent four new tracks are featured, gelled together with classics from the Bud canon. Not just a beautiful, jazzy, funky and sultry drum and bass record but as the lush artwork suggests, a highly mature album full of intricate musicianship.
