DJ Shadow, without question one of the most ground breaking, forward thinking and influential artists in modern music, is set to release his feverishly anticipated new album "The Less You Know, The Better".
DJ Shadow, aka Josh Davis, is widely credited as a key figure in developing the experimental instrumental hip-hop style associated with the London-based Mo' Wax label. Inspired by hip-hop's early years, he grew to absorb the heyday of crews like Eric B. & Rakim, Ultramagnetic MCs, and Public Enemy; groups which prominently featured DJs in their ranks. From the early inspirations, Shadow rapidly moved on to spearhead the innovation of genres like hip-hop, ambient, and trip-hop and remains synonymous with the success of these genres.
The album features a veritable procession of special guest appearances from some of the most exciting names in modern music and finds the maverick artist re-visiting the methods used when he created his game-changing debut "Entroducing".
DJ Shadow recently brought his trail-blazing live show Down Under for the Splendour In The Grass 2011 festival and two side shows in Sydney & Melbourne.
