'The Let Go' is the third album for Sydney-based 8 piece band KID CONFUCIUS, renowned for their energetic and packed live shows. The band’s first 2 albums, Kid Confucius (2005) and Stripes (2007), were critically acclaimed and garnered national high rotation radio play on singles including ‘Words’, ‘Last Straw’ and ‘Moment’. The Let Go signifies a radical shift in style and sound for the band, a simplified affair, borrowing elements from Garage Soul, Dance-floor Rock and Soul Pop-Rock filtered through a distorted, nostalgic analogue recording. With a new guitarist joining their ranks (19 year old James Manson), a few months of intense writing sessions and rehearsals, The Let Go was recorded live to tape, only using original mics and gear from pre 1970 by their producer Tony Buchen (Andy Bull, Macromantics) once again at Electric Avenue Studios in Sydney.
