"Locked By Land" is the latest offering from Jinja Safari; a collection of what they have achieved to date and then some. And those achievements are big.
In the eighteen months since their inception, Jinja Safari have trekked through forest shows, pub gigs and national supports with the likes of Boy & Bear and Art vs Science. They have also taken the stage at major festivals (including Big Day Out, Falls Festival, Good Vibrations and Splendour In The Grass - twice) and sold out their owns shows multiple times over. They released two EPs, won over radio airwaves with singles such as 'Peter Pan', 'Hiccups' and 'Mermaids' and most of all introduced Australia to a Safari-style live show.
On the back of huge support from JJJ (who first discovered the band via their Unearthed site), Jinja Safari have become one of the most hotly-tipped young bands in the country, receiving a load of media attention and able to shift a startling amount of tickets at their many shows. This collection, while not the debut album "proper" is nevertheless an excellent starting point for those keen to join the Safari!
