Afro Mystik combine African & Latin rhythms with future soul, nu jazz & broken beats to create an original and highly organic hybrid.
Formed in the soul soaked soil of San Francisco, Afro-Mystik are a six piece live ensemble. With the velvety vocals of Omega, Liana Young & Gina Rene (of Soulstice fame), the bumpin' bass of Mr. Bungle's Trevor Dunn, the drums of Simone White (Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy), the percussion of Carlos Araiza, and the sampledelic production of Chris Smith aka DJ Fluid (Om's label owner & head honcho) : Afro Mystik is the sound of dance music rooted in the traditions it grew out of.
One of the highlights from the album is the new 12 single, Natural. It features remixes from Halo & Kaskade & is receiving support from such taste maker DJ's as Rainer Trüby (Compost), Halo (H-Foundation), Kyoto Jazz Massive, Ron Trent, Francois K, Q Burns Abstract Message and Bruno (Café Del Mar).
