on 11 February, 2007.

Michel Bénébig is New Caledonia’s greatest jazz export, regularly performing in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Vanuatu, as well as the USA and a tour to Europe planned for 2008.

“Live in Melbourne” was captured at the end of Michel’s last Australian tour, with two of Melbourne’s finest musicians, Mike Jordan and Adam Simmons, with New Zealand trumpeter, Vaughn Roberts as well. The tunes are all originals by Bénébig (except for one by Simmons), with inspiration drawn from his Pacific environment and his love of the Hammond organ and its tradition.
