Born in France to Tunisian Jewish immigrants, raised in Israel, and career modelled back in Paris, YAEL NAIM hit the music scene through her and David Donatien track "New Soul", which culminated in commercial and artistic success following the tracks use in a promotional advert for Apple (which entered the Top Ten on the US sales chart). 'She Was A Boy' presents the comeback of Yael Naim, with an album of 12 songs composed entirely in English. Yael offers us a mix of gentle as well as heartbreaking songs through strength and fragility. It is a trek around the world (jazz, variety pop, classical); a soul-searching journey of self, where the voices and melodies vibrate within the compositions of Yael, and the listener.
