Han-Na Chang, the talented young cellist, continues to captivate audiences all over the world with her unique interpretation of the works of the great composers. Here, she plays the Shostakovich's cello concerto No.1 (first performed by Rostropovich in October 1959) and Cello Sonata with great integrity and understanding of the hidden messages conveying life under 'old Russia'.
This new recording fuses the remarkable cello playing of Han-Na Chang with the great conducting of Antonio Pappano. The ch emistry between them is captured here in it's entirety along with the LSO's enthusiasm in responding to this very special musical partnership.
