A collection of the Brian Jonestown Massacre’s first recordings originally released only on LP in a limited edition of 500 in 1993, to which this CD issue adds six bonus tracks. Recorded (mostly) around the time of the group’s official debut, Methodrone, most of these allnight studio experiments feature Newcombe only. With a little more promotion from an enterprising label, this record could’ve been a worthy companion (at the time) to Mercury Rev’s Yerself Is Steam.
