Description:
Soundtrack to the latest instalment of the best selling SPLINTER CELL computer game series
For the third instalment of the "Splinter Cell" series of games, makers UBISOFT decided they wanted something more than your standard mixture of unrelated pop tunes or crappy "atmosphere" music made by a one-fingered failed musician and a Fisher Price synth.
So they decided to employ NINJA TUNES' very own AMON TOBIN. And Amon, as you might expect, has completely revolutionised the idea of humble "video game music".
Possibly the first "proper" videogame soundtrack to be released as an album in its own right, this is also a blinding record, another worthy addition to Tobin's ever-developing catalogue featuring his trademark dark, moody bass runs and soundscaped beats.
'Splinter Cell' is an electronic record made almost entirely from acoustic instruments, every sound has been lovingly warped and re-warped, handcrafted and caressed before having thousands of volts shot through it for that trademark Amon adrenalin rush.
This is classic Amon Tobin, with yet another extra dimension. A superb follow-up to albums like 'Supermodified', 'Bricolage' and 'Out From Out Where'.
