This is the 6th album from PJ Harvey who writes, sings and produces the lot. Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea features 12 new tracks. PJ at her best.
Opening track 'Big Exit' kicks of this album in the best possible manner, with an absolute stomper. Next up is single 'Good Fortune' and then the awesome 'A place called home'. By this stage you've heard more good tunes and great singing than is afforded to most bands in their entire career, but just wait cause there's a lot more. For starters there is the duet with Radiohead's Thom Yorke on 'This Mess We're In', the buzz-saw of 'Kamikaze' and the beauty of 'We Float'. Beyond that you are presented with the masterful 'The Whores Hustle & The Hustler's Whore' with the chorus you've always wanted and the magnificent 'You Said Something' where lament takes on a whole new level.

This album has more feeling than any other you will hear this year or just about any other. PJ Harvey has consistently produced magical records, but with 'Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea' she has surpassed even her own incredible standards. Nick Cave, you had better watch out.
