This independent Melbourne 'folk-rock-orchestra' have been working their way into the collective consciousness of punters in Melbourne and all over the country for the past few years. They have accrued the respect and adoration of music lovers all over for their incendiary live shows. Ranging from the intimate and gently delivered prose in music that will leave you wondering where you just went, to the enlivening, bombastic chant anthems, enough to start any mild riot.
Lamplight have had the pleasure of performing with some of its most promising contemporaries, including: Blue Bottle Kiss, Love outside Andromeda, Silver Ray, Carus and the true believers, The Beautiful Few, Mel Horsnel, Special Patrol, Long walk home, among many others.
In recent times, Lamplight have been added to festival line-ups around the country, including: Peats Ridge Festival, Folk Rhythm and Life, Maitreya, SOS, Green Day Out and have shown their support in many worthy fundraising events.
Radio stations took to Lamplight's single release off their debut album 'The fish will walk', receiving rotation on Melbourne's community radio stations as well as on local radio stations across the land. They hope to give stations some fresh works in early 2007 to expand their listener ship and provide sustenance to their devotees.
Film maker Adam Arkapaw sought out Lamplight to provide the soundtrack to his short film 'That Blackbird' which received much acclaim at its screenings. They have since collaborated on projects, including the film clip for Lamplight's single 'Sunlight'.
