Those Scottish fight-poppers Dananananaykroyd return as boisterous as ever with new track ‘Muscle Memory’. It’s got the aggressive, holler-along dual vocals and ferocious punk energy that inspires fists to be thrown into the air and get feet thumping. And it is done in such Dananana-style that it would be accepted, nay expected, to be yearning for a Wall of Cuddles at the end of it all.‘Muscle Memory’ is the first single from the forthcoming second album “There Is A Way” which promises to be a heaving beast. With one of the hard-rock’s legends, producer Ross Robinson (At The Drive In, Deftones, The Cure) behind the desk, it’s hard not to have tingles of high anticipation for the “Hey Everyone!” follow up.In 2009 Dananananaykroyd wrapped Australia around their six little fingers. Their pop-rocket ‘Black Wax’ was on high rotation not only on the airwaves, but also at every indie dance floor across the country. They had already whipped crowds into a frenzy in the UK, Europe and America, sending tales of their rapturous live show (including their trademarked Wall of Cuddles) to our shores. When they actually landed in the flesh on Australian ground the crowds were crackling with anticipation. From the small room at Byron Bay’s Great Northern to Splendour In the Grass’ huge marquees, Dananananaykroyd came, saw, smiled, high-fived, hugged, collapsed, conquered. When it came to their show at The Annandale, they also broke bones, cutting the tour short and making the demand for them greater. Now the band return to Australia ready and raring to show off their new tunes in the likes of ‘Muscle Memory’. “There Is A Way” will be out on June 10 via Dew Process, and will lend itself as a good warm-up ahead of their performance at this year’s Splendour In The Grass at Woodfordia.
