Hell Yeah Recordings starts off their new collectable compilation series with a masterpiece project from techno-icon, long time Hell Yeah fave, his majesty of all things techno: Umek.
The first CD is a snapshot of the current state of techno and it’s all about Umek’s mixing skills and his ear for a killer techno tune. The Slovenian legend has selected the best tracks from the freshest techno artists like: Fergie, Koen Groeneveld, Spektre, Dyno, Piatto, Dandi & Ugo, Olivier Giacomotto, Tomy Declerque, then added a few of his own tracks and remixes and blended it all into what is the techno mix of 2009.
The Second CD contains 12 exclusive unreleased Umek tracks recorded between 2000 and 2006 only available on this release and not digitally. A great retrospective to discover the roots of a techno authority, and one that showcases his varied production, from early electro to warped melodies to banging funky techno grooves.
