The Lighthouse Family are the British duo of Paul Tucker and Tunde Baiyewu. They have created a sublime, sophisticated pop-soul record that's brimming with a gentle soulfulness and ear-pleasing tunefulness. Theswirling strings and disco-lite thump of 'Wish' may recall the lushness of Barry White's Love Unlimited Orchestra, but generally The Lighthouse Family specialize in a whiter shade of RnB - think mid-seventies Lou Rawls and Boz Scaggs - or Seal in his balladeering moments. So classy, it's in a class of its own.
