Experimental electro-grind duo I Set My Friends On Fire is the end result of a sonic mind-meld of two Miami teenagers, Nabil Moo and Matt Mihana. After a couple of years playing together, Nabil and Matt formed ISMFOF in late 2007. These precocious teens started their musical journey around the same time they started high school, and sucked up every musical genre that crossed their path, from boy-band pop to Timbaland electrobeat to grindcore; the result is one of the freshest sounds around. The duo became an overnight hit with their incredible rock/screamo cover of Soulja Boy’s “Crank Dat,” which attracted over 50,000 plays per day on MySpace. Their creative self-promotion and undeniably catchy songs soon caught the attention of Epitaph label owner Brett Gurewitz. In an era where getting attention for a young band is harder than ever, ISMFOF’s debut album You Can’t Spell Slaughter Without Laughter already has a waiting, fanatical fan base.
