I find it hard to really get into local bands because I find it all ends up sounding the same, but this album is yet to leave my car! The only thing better than this album is hearing them live. Highly recommend you buy a copy of Surrender, especially if you're a fan of Butterfly Effect, Karnivool, Breaking Benjamin, etc

Freestate came to Ballarat 2/8/07 and they have really restored my faith in heavy rock. The lyrics are understandable and i luv the guitar riffs! We had never heard of them before and instantly loved what we heard. Thanks for the music guys. We are definately fans. I love Tool and I just want you to know that I think you have a bit of a Tool flava in your tunes. That is a compliment.

After first experiencing Freestate,from the Big Waves and Wipe-outs promo,Phoenix and Mystery man were awesome teasers.......I have eagerly awaited the arrival of their first collation of tracks and with much relief, the CD hasn't let me down. I found the Surrender CD top shelf stuff and each track from number 1, builds to better and better songs !! Wicked. I eagerly await the live gig in Brisbane. Well done.

This album is awesome as the headline implies. They are a great rock band, and more people should be listening to this great band. This album was a pleasant suprise. I'll be listening to this album over and over, for some time to come...well until their second album comes out.

Highly recommended.
